Performance

As a performer, I have most recently worked professionally with international performance company Reckless Sleepers, in their show Its Hot Its Not.

After working with artistic director Mole Wetherell on an artist weekend intensive back in October 2023, I was invited to perform in their children's show, Its Hot Its Not, at Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children in Cairo. The festival took place in February 2024 and hosted both an international and Egyptian programme of live performance, workshops and cinema for children.

Its Hot Its Not is a 45 minute physical performance for children aged 2-5, exploring the weather in all its forms.

"This surreal, funny and carefully crafted physical performance explores the weather in all its forms from summer to autumn, winter to spring and takes delight in discovering the world anew and how we experience it differently, wherever we are." - Reckless Sleepers.

I performed in the show over 6 performances, with our final show being the closing performance of the festival. This was such a joyful show to be a part of, and it was a wonderful opportunity to be able to perform at the festival, for local school children and the public; as well as to meet and engage with other artists and festival organisers. The performance was supported by the British Council Egypt.
